Council Meeting Schedule
Council meets Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Fridays, at 10:00 a.m. in the John Ferraro Council Chamber, Room 340, City Hall, 200 N. Spring St. (entrance on Main St.), Los Angeles, 90012. On the first Friday of every other month, the Council meeting is held at 10:00 a.m., at the Van Nuys City Hall, 14410 Sylvan St., Van Nuys, 91401. Occasionally the City Council is in recess or meets at a different time. Refer to the City calendar to confirm the meeting time and that Council is in session.
November of each year, the Chief Legislative Analyst proposes a Council recess schedule for the following calendar year pursuant to Charter Section 242. Refer to the following document:
The City Clerk's Office only provides translation services for Council and Committee meetings. If an individual requires translation services for one of these meetings, please contact the Council and Public Services, Translation Services Section, at (213) 978-1080, at least 72 hours prior to the meeting you wish to attend. Please specify the language for which you require translation.
Committee Assignments and Meeting Times
On or about July 1 of every odd year, the City Council elects its President. The President then assigns the members of the 15 standing and ad hoc committees, pursuant to Council Rule 59. Regular Council Committee assignments as well as meeting dates and times can be found in the Council Committee Assignments document.

Referrals "Hot Sheet"
Pursuant to Council Rule 16, the Presiding Officer shall cause all matters filed with, or presented to the Council to be referred to the appropriate Council Committee and cause a memorandum of such references to be furnished to each Councilmember. The City Clerk, on behalf of the Council President, prepares this memorandum (aka Hot Sheet), which provides a daily list of all motions introduced in Council, reports submitted by departments and the Council Committee to which the matter was referred. Referral are based on the adopted Council Committee Structure Resolution.
