2019 LAUSD 5 Special Election

As a result of a vacancy in Los Angeles Unified School District, District 5, the County of Los Angles will conduct a Special Election.  The Primary Election will take place on March 5, 2019.  If a General Election is necessary, it will take place on May 14, 2019.

The Ethics Commission announced:   Fundraising window for the Los Angeles Unified School District Board of Education (LAUSD) 2019 Special Election, to fill the vacancy in LAUSD District 5, is now open.

Individuals that are interested in becoming candidates are encouraged to contact the Ethics Commission at (213) 978-1960 or visit their website at ethics.lacity.org.

2020 Primary Nominating and General Municipal Elections

As a result of Charter Amendments 1 and 2 approved by the voters in 2015, the City's municipal elections will now be held in even-numbered years and consolidated with California State elections conducted by the Los Angeles County Registrar-Recorder/County Clerk.  The City expects to hold its primaries in March (pending approval of a Charter Amendment this fall to realign City election dates with State dates) and general elections in November of even-numbered years.  

Offices in the 2020 Primary Nominating and General Municipal Elections include:  Council Districts 2, 4, 6, 8, 10, 12, 14, and LAUSD Board Districts 1, 3, 5, and 7.
